This week, we break down the NFL Playoffs Wild Card Round.
First, we break down the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals' 24-17 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. In addition, they analyze the impact of Lamar Jackson's injury, who was out due to a knee injury, and the performance of Tyler Huntley, who filled in for Jackson. The hosts also discuss the future of Lamar Jackson in Baltimore as he enters free agency.
Next, the hosts discuss the Buffalo Bills' 34-31 win over the Miami Dolphins in a closely contested game. The hosts also analyze the performance of Josh Allen, who threw for three touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown pass to Gabe Davis in the third quarter. The hosts also discuss the performance of Gabe Davis and how he and fellow starting receiver Stefon Diggs. With defenses continuing to key on Diggs, the hosts discuss the importance of Davis' continued stellar playoff play if the Bills hope to win their first Super Bown in franchise history.
Next, we discuss the incredible comeback made by the Jacksonville Jaguars in their Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Trailing 27-0 in the second quarter, the Jaguars, led by rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, stormed back to win 31-30 on a game-winning field goal as the clock expired in regulation. This comeback is the third-largest in NFL playoff history. We analyze Lawrence's performance, his four interceptions in the first half and four touchdown passes in the second half and the resilience and determination of the Jaguars' offense.
Next, we discuss the New York Giants' stunning 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Led by first-year head coach Brian Daboll and quarterback Daniel Jones, the Giants beat the Vikings at their own game of tight finishes. We also discuss the Giants' defense and how they shut down the Vikings in the game's final minutes, the impressive performances from Saquon Barkley and the Giants receivers, and the Giants' upcoming divisional-round game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their playoff journey with a 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The game was marked by a standout performance by a rookie quarterback, Brock Purdy, who threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score in his playoff debut. Purdy, who took over as the starting quarterback in Week 13 after an injury to Jimmy Garoppolo, has been on a roll since then, winning his sixth straight start. Purdy threw for 332 yards, the second most ever for a rookie in the playoffs, and became the first rookie quarterback to account for four touchdowns in a playoff game. As a result, the 49ers advanced to the divisional round, where they will host Dallas next weekend.
Finally, The Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC wild-card playoff game on Monday night with a 31-14. Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Cowboys, played an excellent game throwing for four touchdowns and running for another. He completed 25 of 33 passes for 305 yards and played turnover-free ball for the first time in eight games. The Cowboys dominated the game, and this may turn out to be Tom Brady's last game in a Tampa Bay uniform. This was the first time the Cowboys beat Brady and the first time in 30 years that the Cowboys won in the playoffs on the road. Next Sunday, they will face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional round.
